Volunteer Clearance Levels (PUSD)
To keep students safe, all volunteers must complete a clearance level through Pleasanton Unified School District. The level you choose should reflect the type of activities you plan to support during the school year.
We Strongly Encourage Level 3 Clearance
If you’re planning to volunteer at all this year, we highly encourage completing Level 3 clearance through Pleasanton Unified School District—even if you’re not sure you’ll be driving or chaperoning.
Here’s why:
Field trips and off-campus activities often depend on having enough cleared drivers. When we don’t have enough Level 3 volunteers, opportunities for students can be limited or canceled.
Getting cleared upfront helps ensure we can say yes to more experiences for our kids.

- Chaperone field trips
- Supervise students off campus
- Transport students to or from activities
Before You Apply (Important)
Before completing your application, please note:
- Your name must match your government-issued ID
- Returning volunteers should use the same name as listed in the Raptor system
- TB clearance documentation may be required
- Level 3 volunteers must submit driver/insurance documentation
- The application must be completed in one sitting (it will not save)
- You’ll receive updates via the email you provide
