Welcome to the Vintage Hills PTA!

The Vintage Hills Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is made up of dedicated parents and staff who generously give their time, talents and treasure to our school community. It is the goal of the PTA to enhance our student's educational experience by sponsoring and providing numerous academic and social programs.
The Vintage Hills PTA is proud to partner with our children's teachers and administrators to enrich school curriculum whenever possible. Please consider getting involved as an active member. We hold general meetings four times a year to discuss and approve plans, activities, and make financial decisions. All PTA and non-PTA members are welcome and encouraged to attend. This is a great opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our Vintage Hills students.

Our goal is to build a school community in which we all develop as responsible, respectful, caring citizens, inspired by a love of learning.

Vintage Hill's 1st Annual Read-A-Thon

This is the LAST  BIG FUNDRAISER of this school year!

The Spell-A-Thon is gone! Taking its place is the 1st Annual Vintage Hills Read-A-Thon which is being held from Wednesday, January 23rd - Wednesday, January 30th. This fundraiser encourages students to get busy reading! After the week is over, students will have one week to collect pledge dollars from their sponsors.

How It Works
Students earn one point per 20 minutes of reading time anyday between 1/23/19 - 1/30/19. Being read to, and listening to audio books also counts toward earning points. Students can earn additional points by adding a "booster" to their reading time. Reading boosters include things like reading by flashlight, reading a book checked out from the public library, reading to a stuffed animal, etc. A full list of "boosters" will come home with your reading log on Wednesday, January 23rd.

STARTING NOW: January 11th - January 22nd
Students collect per-point or flat donation pledges from family, friends, and neighbors via our online donation system, or on their paper pledge sheets. Pledge sheets are due back to your classroom on Wednesday, January 23rd.

January 23rd - January 30th
Get reading! Students will bring home their Reading Log and list of boosters. Track the points they earn over the course of the week. Completed reading logs are due back to school on Thursday, January 31st.
Your student's pledge form is coming home today! They should use it to track any cash or check donations no made online. Donations made online will be tracked through the website, and should not be included on the paper pledge form.
ONLINE DONATION SYSTEM: Take stress out of asking for donations by using our online donation system. Register easily at www.pledgestar.com/vintagehills. Through the website, family and friends can receive a private electronic invitation from you letting them know your student is participating in a Read-a-Thon. Sponsors will have the opportunity to support your child through an online donation via credit card or check. Conveniently, donations are automatically split between siblings.
Awards and Recognition
There are 12 prizes up for grabs. Each grade level will award the student with the most points, and the student who raised the highest dollar amount with a Barnes & Nobles gift card.
There are also raffle prizes available (2 per grade) for any student who participates in our Favorite Book Character Dress up Day on Friday, 1/25/19, and our Black, White and Red dress-up day on Tuesday, 1/29/19. Students can also earn raffle points by participating in our used Book Drive for The Hanger

What Can You Do To Help?
We are looking for volunteers to help pass out raffle tickets on our dress up days, as well as for volunteers to help in the "War Room" on Friday, February 1st. If you are available to help, please click here to sign up, or speak with your room parent.
Please direct any questions you have
Thank you for your support!!

Did You Forget to Pay for School Supplies During Registration?
Each year the PTA asks families to make a voluntary donation with the goal of fully funding classroom supplies for all students at Vintage Hills. This year, for TK-2nd grade, the cost of supplies per student is $40 and for 3rd-5th grade, the cost of supplies per student is $50.

Supporting our "supply fund" means that when your child arrived on the first day of school, pencils, pens, crayons, copy paper, books, glue sticks, markers, rulers, binders, folders, erasers, etc., were already purchased by his/her teacher to fit the specific needs of that classroom. It also means that you, as caregivers, got to avoid shopping with supply lists, last minute trips to Target, or lugging supplies to class on the first day of school.

Your donation for these supplies benefits every child in our school, and we appreciate your generosity! Your support
allows the PTA to continue to be able to provide this convenience to our teachers and families.
If you'd like to donate for school supplies please click here and scroll down the storefront to select your proper donation amount.

Thank you to all of our volunteers for making the Fall Carnival a success! It was a great community event and we all loved seeing the kids having such a fun time!

During October we also held the Book Fair and thanks to generous parents and students we were able to donate $2500 in books to our school and classroom libraries. Thanks so much for your support!

Finally, as we move into the holiday season and, soon enough, into the new year, we do have a few open positions on the PTA board for the 2019-2020 school year, including PTA President and VP of Enrichment. We also have quite a few of event lead positions as well as many other smaller positions (Science Fair, Fall Carnival, Marquee, etc) that we need volunteers to for. If you'd like to help out in a big or small way, please contact me or Dawn Chatham.

PTA Communications Signup
Want to stay informed on what PTA is up to? Think you signed up to receive communications and not receiving them? You can now sign up directly to receive news and information from PTA! Click here.

Please note: If you completed a volunteer clearance form between 9/15-10/15 you’ll need to fill out the form again. Apologies for the confusion.

The volunteer clearance form has to be completed every year in order for the parent/guardian to be cleared to work in the classrooms, help at school wide events, and even to chaperone at field trips. Each family member must fill out a volunteer clearance form separately.
